Challenge
According to current data, 34% more fires broke out in 2022 than the year before. The combination of long drought period and record temperatures has turned the entire country, but primarily our coast, into a high-risk fire area where often just a spark is enough for a disaster.
Just one recklessly thrown cigarette or insufficiently extinguished barbecue threatens houses and requires almost superhuman efforts of firefighters. Just a moment of inattention is enough to turn a colorful Mediterranean forest into a still life.
We asked ourselves what we, a creative agency that likes to deal with problem solving, can do about it?
Solution
Our goal was to launch a campaign to raise awareness of the devastating consequences of fire. We only needed one image for the campaign.
In art, most often in painting, still life means the use of inanimate or immobile objects for central artistic motifs. Like picked fruit or a jug of milk.
We borrowed the mentioned term for the image of literally burned nature in the form of the Aleppo pine, which was very much alive until yesterday.
A painting by an unknown author that, unfortunately, we have all seen too many times is called Still Life.
We did the campaign for the Croatian firefighting community with the great help of the advertising companies Go2Digital and Media oglasi.
Thank you all for your hard work, we really believe – for the sake of all of us – that it will pay off.
