Challenge

Due to high demand, developer firms are doing everything they can to attract top talent. How do you stand out among countless companies and show potential employees that you truly understand their real needs? This was the same question troubling Serengeti, an award-winning software development consultancy.
In the fierce competition for top talent, the IT sector has started offering developers increasingly exotic perks. According to the latest research, 96% of developers expect top salaries, work-life balance, and work on relevant projects from their future employer. Fortunately, these are precisely the core benefits of Serengeti Tech.
Our task was to design an employer branding campaign that would:
Present what Serengeti offers to potential employees in an engaging way.
Position Serengeti as a top-of-mind choice for developers.
Showcase Serengeti as a company where developers come to learn and earn. Attract developers who will join Serengeti and stay.

Solution

We decided to poke fun at the unnecessary perks that the entire industry offers and challenge the IT sector to focus on real benefits when attracting new talent. In our creative concept, we took these perks to a complete absurdity—grabbing attention while delivering the key message in secondary communication.

The Results?
In an extremely competitive industry, we attracted the attention of developers—but also the competition.
The free PR value of the campaign exceeded €17,000.
The engagement rate on the client’s social media increased by 43%.
Visits to the Serengeti careers page grew by 18%.
But let’s forget the numbers for a moment. People were talking about the campaign at lunches, meetups, and conferences. And that’s a good sign.
A sign that this might just be the last developer campaign where dragon fruit and white truffle hunting get a mention.
